It will be a night of poise, grace, and Black excellence, when you head to the Warner Theatre on Thursday, October 9th, for a "fireside-like chat" with former Vice President Kamala Harris as she shares reflections from her latest memoir, "107 Days." Get ready for the G.O.A.T! On Friday, October 10th, legend, icon, comedian, Dave Chappelle, takes over the Capital One Arena stage to do what he does best: make us laugh AND make us think. Get your taste buds ready on Saturday and/or Sunday, October 11-12th for the Taste of NoVa, the annual fall festival that celebrates 120+ top chefs and beverage stars across the region’s food and drink scene. Don't renege: kick of the month on Saturday, November 1st, with a Boston-style run to Arena Stage to take in a showing of "Fremont Ave.," a raw, new play that uses the game of Spades as a central metaphor for the Plique family's search for their voices, their hearts, and the courage to play the cards they’re dealt. 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $59+. It won't be jingle bells but more like rockin' the bells on Monday, December 8th, courtesy of two of hip hops dopest: Raekwon & Mobb Deep, when they team up for their 30th Anniversary Tour at the Fillmore. 8 p.m. Tickets: $64+. It may not be a gift courtesy of the big, red, guy, but the gift of music will be aplenty when you head to Baltimore on Saturday, December 13th, for a matinee of "Santa Claus is Comin' : A Motown Christmas Revue" at the Baltimore Center Stage. 2 p.m. Tickets: $72+. It's simply not the holiday season without the melodious voice of the one and only, Maysa. Featured Restaurant: The fall will call for cozy bar vibes whether you're toasting to the season with friends or planning your holiday shopping while sippin' on a bourbon. For that, head to Adams Morgan and check out its latest offering--Maison Bar à Vins--centered around a quaint, green marble bar, with a variety of spirits such as Armagnacs, calvados, absinthe, and other French liquors as well as over a thousand wines, largely from France. A menu of tiny and shared plates are offered, which includes taramosalata-filled choux buns, pastoral terrines, creamy-savory smoked eel croquette, and larger plates like rich brioche-stuffed chicken breast with mushrooms. Currently, only the first floor is open, featuring a 12-seater bar, a small back room, and a no-reservation bar area. A main dining room is planned for the second floor.
